I am constantly reminded on a weekly (tbh mostly daily) basis of how difficult and exhausting life can be. Between balancing work and a social life, to keeping up with a workout routine and remembering to eat a vegetable every once in a while, it can be a lot to juggle all at once. On the days where life gets really hard and a strong margarita doesn’t cut it, it’s good to know that other 20-somethings feel the same way.
I can tell you that I will HAPPILY be that 20-something for you! For those times where you can’t put into words how weird being an adult is, these GIFs have got you covered.
1. “We’re dead! We’re dead! We survived but we’re dead!”
How we feel after work, after class, after folding a fitted sheet… you name it.
2. “What, like it’s hard?”
What we say after a temporary surge of confidence flows through our bodies when we figure out how to correctly do our taxes or set up our bills for auto pay.
3. “Youths!”
Because now as a 26-year-old, you think 16-year-olds are obnoxious and loiter at the mall. How easily we forget that was us just a short decade ago.

Us elder millennials pretending that we can still pull off crop tops, use slang like “stan,” and stay out past 11 PM on the weekend.
6. “I have no plan.”
What you want to say to “real” adults when they ask you what you want to do with your life.
7. “I’m so ready for bed.”
I say as I leave for work every morning.
8. “I like sweatpants and staying home.”
Because we secretly like it when our friends cancel plans so we can stay in our sweatpants, watch an entire season of Friends and eat chips and hummus until we die.
9. *Dodges responsibilities*
Dirty laundry? A pile of dishes? A dying houseplant? Yeah, we’ll get to it eventually. For now… I’ll just sit here and scroll mindlessly through Instagram for 45 minutes.
10. “I quit!”
Fine, so we can’t quit adulting, but sometimes you just gotta take a break.
